“Bend those knees!” Don’t worry, squats aren’t designed solely to punish you – performing them is a great way to get toned glutes and strong, shapely legs. Some people even claim that dedicated “squatters” can crack nuts between their buttcheeks!

How to train

  • Legs shoulder-width apart
  • Arms stretched out in front of you
  • Abdominal muscles tensed
  • Lower back slightly hollow

  • Buttocks lowered
  • Thighs parallel to the floor
  • Upper body remains the same

What to watch out for

  • Back should not be curved forward
  • Tension in abdominal muscles should be maintained over entire exercise
  • Slight arch in lower back should be maintained to relieve pressure on spinal column
