“Bend those knees!” Don’t worry, squats aren’t designed solely to punish you – performing them is a great way to get toned glutes and strong, shapely legs. Some people even claim that dedicated “squatters” can crack nuts between their buttcheeks!
How to train
A
- Legs shoulder-width apart
- Arms stretched out in front of you
- Abdominal muscles tensed
- Lower back slightly hollow
B
- Buttocks lowered
- Thighs parallel to the floor
- Upper body remains the same
What to watch out for
- Back should not be curved forward
- Tension in abdominal muscles should be maintained over entire exercise
- Slight arch in lower back should be maintained to relieve pressure on spinal column
