Screen Wiper
Screen Wiper
Think windscreen wipers are only useful in the rain? You’d be wrong. Unlike the wipers in your car, this exercise uses targeted leg movements to strengthen your oblique abdominal muscles and pave the way to a washboard stomach.
How to train
A
- Upper body flat on the floor
- Arms stretched out to the sides at right angles to the body
- Legs in the air
- Knees bent at a right angle
B
- Sink the knees down to one side in a controlled fashion
- Do not place knees on the floor
- Shoulders should stay on the floor
C
- Switch the knees to the other side
- Do not place knees on the floor
- Shoulders should stay on the floor
What to look out for
- Knees should never touch the floor
- Depending on the desired level of difficulty, legs may also be outstretched
- The angle between the legs and body should never be more than ninety degrees
- Legs should be lowered as far as it is possible to go in a controlled fashion
